Jersey City, NJ: The Ramapo College women's volleyball team opened NJAC conference play on the road with a 3-0 (25-17, 25-13, 25-17) victory. The Roadrunners now stand at 3-3 overall and 1-0 in the conference while the Gothic Knights are now 1-3 overall and 0-1 in the NJAC.
Morgan Ridgway led the Roadrunners with 11 kills while she added two aces and 11 digs. Ridgeway hit .385 in the match with 26 attempts and just one error.
Hannah Frascella and
Felicia Jimenez each collected six kills while Frascella tallied two aces and Jimenez recorded two digs and one block.
Kristina Semple led the Roadrunners on defense with 13 digs while she added five assists and one ace.
Kate Shirkey posted a team high 17 assists while she added two aces, four digs and one kill.
Sara Correa dished out ten assists of her own in the match with one kill and eight digs. The team hit .214 for the match with 37 kills on 103 attempts and 15 errors.
For NJCU, Amber O'Donnell led the way with eight kills while she added nine digs. Stephanie Duque collected a team high 16 digs while she added six kills and one ace. Georgina Rayo posted a team high 13 assists while she added four digs and one block. The Gothic Knights hit .059 for the match with 20 kills on 85 attempts and 15 errors.
Ramapo returns to action on Friday afternoon when they open the Roadrunner Invitational with a match at 4pm on court one against Bard College. On court two, New Paltz will take on Penn State-Harrisburg. All five matches for Friday night can be found on www.ramapoathletics.com.
