Newburgh, NY:  Mount Saint Mary College opened the 2018 season with a 2-0 shutout over visiting Ramapo College. The Knights now stand at 1-0 while the Roadrunners are 0-1.
 
The Knights got on the board in the 44th minute (43:11) of the game with their third shot in the game with a goal from Kayla Davis. Davis had her first shot saved before she collected her own rebound and hit the back of the net for a 1-0 lead. Ramapo held a 5-3 advantage in shots in the first half while MSMC collected three corner kicks to Ramapo's two.
 
In the second half, the Knights added their second goal of the game in the 75th minute (74:16) when Chrissy Cannella scored her first goal of the season to extend the lead 2-0. MSMC held the Roadrunners to just one shot on goal in the final 15 minutes of the game as they came away with the 2-0 non-conference victory.
 
Elizabeth Harvell recorded four saves in the game while Liz Ellsworth posted three saves in the victory for the Knights. The Knights recorded 10 shots in the game while the Roadrunners recorded six. Ramapo held a slight edge in corner kicks 4-3.
 
Ramapo returns to action on Sunday afternoon when they travel to FDU-Florham for a non-conference game at 2pm.
