Springfield, MA: The Ramapo College men's volleyball team dropped a pair of matches on the road today at Springfield College. The host Pride, who are ranked #1 in the AVCA Top 15 National Poll, defeated Ramapo 3-0 (25-15, 25-14, 25-13) while Massachusetts Institute of Technology came back to defeat the Roadrunners 3-2 (25-22,20-25,20-25,25-19,15-13).

Springfield improved to 27-1 overall while they hit .500 in the match as they recorded 39 kills on 64 attempts and just seven errors. Mike Neary led the team with 30 assists while he also posted a second best four aces. Chris Parker led the team with five aces while Sergio Figueroa Valez led the way with eight kills as he hit .636 with 11 attempts and only one error. Johjan Mussa Robles collected a team high nine digs and Neary led the way with two blocks.

For the Roadrunners,
Eric Van Thuyne led the team with six kills while
Garrett Fitzsimmons and
Paul Close each posted four of their own.
Lucas Inglis dished out a team best 16 assists and
Terrence Cando collected a team high four digs. The team posted 17 kills in the match on 57 attempts and 14 errors.

In match two of the day against MIT (16-8) the Engineers would win game four to force game fine before taking the final game 15-13 to win the match 3-2. Travish Smith led the way with 18 kills while he added six digs. Evan Pasko collected nine kills and two blocks while Andrew Hall and Skyler Kaufman each collected seven kills in the match. Michael Kulinski dished out a team high 41 assists while Christopher Cheung collected a team high 11 digs. Kaufman also posted a team four total blocks. The team hit .200 in the match with 48 kills on 135 attempts and 21 errors.

The Roadrunners had three players record double-digit kills in the match. Van Thuyne led the way with 18 kills, three aces, six digs and two blocks while Fitzsimmons and Close each posted 17 kills of their own. Close hit .485 in the match with 17 kills on 33 attempts and only one error. Connor Charlow posted eight kills and led the team with seven blocks while Fitzsimmons led the team on defense with 18 digs and added four blocks. Inglis collected a team high 51 assists while he added 12 digs and one block. Cando and Close each recorded 11 digs on defense. The team high .306 in the match with 65 kills on 144 attempts and 21 errors.

The Roadrunners return to action in the opening round of the CVC Tournament on April 10th at the Golden Dome in Newark, NJ at 7pm. Ramapo earned the #3 seed in the West Division while Rutgers-Newark earned the #2 seed in the East Division.
