Game Recap: Women's Lacrosse |

FOUR ROADRUNNERS SCORE IN LOSS TO MSU

Mahwah, NJ:  The Montclair State University women's lacrosse team defeated Ramapo College 16-4 this afternoon in NJAC action. The Red Hawks improve to 8-6 overall and 3-2 in the conference while the Roadrunners drop to 5-9 overall and 0-5 in the NJAC.
 
The Red Hawks out shot the Roadrunners 39-16 in the game as they took an 11-2 lead into the second half. MSU scored seven unanswered goals as Chelsea Orban scored hit the back of the net three times for a 3-0 lead. Sydnee Sapp, Jessica Andreula, Kyle Graver and Rhiannon Brown all scored for the Red Hawks for a 7-0 lead before the Roadrunners got on the board. Alyssa Tachon scored on a free position shot in the 16th minute of action, her 25th goal of the season 7-1. Following two more goals for MSU, Ramapo's Colleen Manley scored her 12th goal of the season off a pass from Molly Warner 9-2. Orban and Graver each scored in the final five minutes of the first half as the Red Hawks led 11-2.
 
In the second half, MSU added five more goals while the Roadrunners hit the back of the net two more times. Brianna Himpele started the scoring the in second half for both teams with an unassisted goal 11-3 before MSU scored four goals of their own for a 15-3 lead. Ava Rinaldi scored her 18th goal of the season with just over seven minutes to play in the game off a pass from Nicole Jaskot. Brown scored the final goal of the game for MSU, her 26th of the season, off a pass from Brittany Costigan for the 16-4 lead.
 
Amanda Maguire earned the win in the net for MSU as she split the game with Allyn Lilien. Maguire tallied five saves in the first half while Lilien collected two in the second half.
 
Monica Bubello tallied eight saves in the game for the Roadrunners.
 
Ramapo returns to action in the final game of the regular season when they travel to Rutgers-Camden University on Saturday, April 28th at 1pm.
