Camden, NJ: The Ramapo College women's lacrosse team came back to defeat Rutgers-Camden University 16-11 today in NJAC action. The Roadrunners wrap up the 2018 season with a 6-9 overall record and 1-5 in the conference while the Scarlet Raptors stand at 2-11 overall and 0-6 in the NJAC.
The Roadrunners scored eight goals in the first half as they led 8-7 going into halftime. The Scarlet Raptors got on the board first in the game before Ramapo scored four straight goals.
Ava Rinaldi got them on the board with a free position shot to tie the game 1-1 before
Colleen Manley scored back-to-back goals of her own for a 3-1 lead.
Molly Warner took a pass from
Beth McGraw and hit the back of the net for a 4-1 lead. Rutgers-Camden got on back with a goal from Cara Racobaldo to cut the lead to two before
Alyssa Tachon scored an unassisted goal to make it 5-2. Kacie Walton added a goal for the Scarlet Raptors before Warner took a pass from
Nicole Jaskot to put Ramapo up 6-3. Rutgers-Camden then scored four unanswered goals to take a 7-6 lead before
Shannon Eagan tied the game at seven all off a pass from
Gabi Davidson. Tachon then scored on a free position shot with 36 seconds left in the first half to take an 8-7 lead.
In the second half, Ramapo scored first when Tachon scored her third goal of the game 9-7 before Jessica Mayer put one in the net for Rutgers to come within one 9-8.
Ava Rinaldi and
Brianna Himpele scored back-to-back goals for Ramapo for an 11-8 lead. Mayer scored a free position goal before Ramapo added four straight goals from Manley, Eagan, Tachon and McGraw to extend the lead 15-9. The Scarlet Raptors got two goals in the final seven mintues of action from Nicole Martin and Nicole Curry while
Nicole Jaskot scored Ramapo's final goal as the Roadrunners came away with a 16-11 win.
Monica Bubello recorded 11 saves in the net for the Roadrunners. Tachon led the team with four goals while Manley tallied three goals. Eagan, Rinaldi, and Warner all posted two goals while Davidson led the team with three assists.
