Game Recap: Women's Lacrosse |

KEAN EARNS 17-6 NJAC VICTORY OVER RAMAPO

Union, NJ:  The Kean University women's lacrosse team defeated Ramapo College 16-7 today in NJAC conference action. The Cougars improve to 12-2 overall and even their conference record at 2-2 overall while the Roadrunners now stand at 5-8 overall and 0-4 in the NJAC.
 
Kean jumped out to a quick 3-0 lead before Ramapo's Shannon Eagan scored back-to-back goals to put the Roadrunners on the board and come within one goal 3-2. Morgan Graham then recorded three straight goals to extend the Cougar lead 6-2. Molly Warner scored her 10th goal of the season on a free position shot with under two minutes to play in the first half before Taylor Nyberg scored an unassisted goal in the final 42 seconds for a 10-3 lead at halftime.
 
Kean added six goals in the second half while the Roadrunners added four of their own. Gabi Davidson collected two goals in the half for Ramapo while Nicole Jaskot and Liana Chirichiello each hit the back of the net. Chirichiello scored her first goal of the season, unassisted, in the final three minutes of action in the game. Kean came away with a 16-7 NJAC victory.
 
Monica Bubello recorded nine saves in the cage for the Roadrunners.  Davidson and Eagan each scored two goals and tallied one assist to lead Ramapo.
 
Nikki Apostolopoulos earned the win for Kean with nine saves in just over 41 minutes in the net. Jose Pagano collected six saves of her own in just over 18 minutes for the Cougars. Graham led the Cougars with six goals while Brittany Ballack added three goals and one assist.
 
The Roadrunners return to action on Tuesday, April 24th when they host NJAC rival Montclair State University at the Athletic Center at 4pm.
