Union, NJ: The #4 Kean University men's volleyball team defeated Ramapo College tonight in CVC conference action 3-0 (25-18, 25-16, 25-21) as the Cougars moved to 27-2 overall and 8-1 in the CVC while the Roadrunners now stand at 7-17 overall and 4-8 in the conference.
The Cougars were led by Steven Zarzycki who led with 13 kills in the match as he hit .391 overall with 23 attempts and just four errors. Nicholas Buseski collected seven kills and hit .429 in the match while Shayron Taylor hit .556 with six kills on nine attempts and one error. Ian Capp dished out a team high 23 assists while Nico Mercadante led the way with two aces. Buseski collected a team high nine digs while Capp added eight of his own. Jared Warner was perfect in the match with five kills on five attempts while he posted one solo block and three assisted blocks. The team hit .295 in the match with 38 kills on 78 attempts and 15 errors.
Eric Van Thuyne led the Roadrunners with 11 kills while
Garrett Fitzsimmons posted nine in the match.
Lucas Inglis posted a team best 19 assists while he also collected two aces and three digs.
Terrence Cando led the team on defense with seven digs and Fitzsimmons recorded one solo block and one assisted block. The team hit .034 in the match with 26 kills on 88 attempts with 23 errors.
The Roadrunners return to action on April 3rd when they host Rutgers-Newark University in a CVC conference match at 7pm in the final home game of the season at the Bradley Center.
