BRIGNONI PITCHES COMPLETE GAME IN 6-0 WIN OVER LEHMAN

Mahwah, NJ:  The Ramapo College baseball team played host to the Lightning of Lehman College today as they posted a 6-0 win behind a complete game pitching performance from Jon Brignoni.  With the win, Ramapo advances to 12-6 overall while the Lightning fall to 7-9 overall.
 
The Roadrunners scattered 11 hits across nine innings as Brignoni pitched the complete game with 12 strikeouts and three walks, letting up just two hits. Brignoni gets his second win of the year improving to 2-0.

Anthony Kuzmenko led on offense as he went 3-4 with one run and one RBI while Bobby Shannon hit 2-3 with one run and Vincenzo Sita hit 1-2 with two runs scored and two RBI.  Austin Unglaub hit 3-5 with two RBI and Joe Maugeri collected one hit on three at bats with one run scored.

The Roadrunners would get on the scoreboard first in the 4th as Sita ripped a double to left field to drive home Shannon.  Shannon singled through the hole to reach first earlier in the inning.  The Roadrunners would go up 2-0 on an error by the second basemen which allowed Sita to cross home plate. 
 
In the bottom of the 6th Ramapo added three runs as Sita, Kuzmenko and Ryan MacNaughton each crossed the plate to go ahead, 5-0.  Kuzmenko drove in Sita, and Unglaub ripped a double to left field driving home Kuzmenko and MacNaughton.
 
Maugeri ripped a triple to right field with one out and later came home on a ground out from Sita to take a 6-0 lead after seven innings of play.  The score would hold in the final innings as Brignoni wrapped up the game with Ramapo ahead, 6-0.

Julius Puryear and Euriel Murray both recorded hits today for Lehman as Emmanuel Velasquez gets the loss pitching seven innings letting up ten hits and six runs, five earned.  He falls to 2-2 on the year.
 
The Roadrunners return to action tomorrow, March 29th when they travel to Farmingdale for a non-conference match-up at 4pm.
