Aston, PA: The Ramapo College men's volleyball team defeated Neumann University tonight 3-0 (25-8, 25-19, 25-19) in CVC conference action. The Roadrunners improve to 5-14 overall, 3-6 in the CVC while the Knights now stand at 0-19 overall and 0-10 in the conference.
Ramapo got a balanced scoring attack during the match while
Paul Close led the team with eight kills and a team high six digs.
Eric Van Thuyne and
Jason Van Der Wilt each collected seven kills of their own. Van Thuyne also led the team with four aces while he posted four digs. Close and
Conor Charlow each recorded two blocks in the match while
Wilton Negrin and
Lucas Inglis split the setting duties with 18 and 14 assists respectively. The team hit .403 in the match with 36 kills on 67 attempts and nine errors.
The Knights were led by Roddy Rountree with 11 kills while the team posted 17 overall. Tomas Ybarra led the way with 12 assists and Andrew Kelly collected a team high six digs. Kelly also posted four kills while Pat Morgan tallied two aces in the match.
The Roadrunners return to action tomorrow night at the Bradley Center when they host New Jersey City University at 4:30pm and #10 New York University at 8:30pm. NYU and NJCU will play the second match of the night at 6:30pm.
