Newburgh, NY: The Ramapo College women's lacrosse team defeated Mount Saint Mary College tonight in non-conference action on the road 11-10 in the final seconds of the game. The Roadrunners even their overall at 2-2 while the Knights drop to 2-3 overall.
Shannon Eagan put the Roadrunners on the board with a goal off a pass from
Alyssa Tachon before the Knights tied the game 1-1 with a goal from Chelsea Henke.
Beth McGraw took a pass from
Colleen Manley to put Ramapo up 2-1 and
Caitlin Ernest added another goal for the Roadrunners for a 3-1 lead with under 18 minutes to play in the first half. A goal from MSMC made it 3-2 Ramapo before
Molly Warner tallied a goal off a pass from Tachon, her third assist of the game for a 4-2 lead with under 11 minutes on the clock. Christina Ryan scored a goal with under a minute to play in the first half to come within one 4-3 as the Roadrunners went into halftime up one goal.
Liz Halpin scored the game-tying goal for the Knights to start the second half, 4-4, before Ryan added another goal to take a 5-4 lead. Manley tied the game 5-5 off a pass from McGraw with 24:10 left in the game before Tachon posted her first goal of the game, and team leading ninth of the season to extend the lead 6-5.
Ava Rinaldi posted her first goal of the game and eighth of the season for a 7-5 lead before MSMC scored back-to-back goals to tie the game 7-7 with 12:51 left in the game. Following a timeout from Ramapo, Eagan put in a goal with under ten minutes to play while Ernest added a goal for a 9-7 lead with 7:25 left to play.
The Knights would come back to take a one goal lead 10-9 with 2:13 left in the game with three unanswered goals.
Gabi Davidson then scored for Ramapo to tie the game with 27 seconds on the clock off a pass from Rinaldi before Rinaldi scored the game winner with one second left.
Rinaldi, Eagan and Earnest all scored two goals each for Ramapo while Manley posted four assists and Tachon added three.
Monica Bubello collected five saves in the game for Ramapo in the win.
The Roadrunners return to action on Sunday, March 25th when they host FDU-Florham at the Athletic Center at 1pm.
