ROADRUNNERS FALL IN TWO ROAD MATCHES

Harrisonburg, VA:  The Ramapo College men's volleyball team dropped two matches today and now stand at 4-9 overall. #15 Eastern Mennonite University defeated Ramapo 3-0 (25-16, 25-27, 25-17) in CVC action before Stevenson University battled to a 3-2 (23-25, 25-13, 25-23, 25-23, 15-7) non-conference win.

EMU's William Ragland led the team with 12 kills on 20 attempts and no errors and hit .600 in the match. Tim Callahan and Dan Lutz posted eight and seven kills respectively while Christian Taylor posted 25 assists to lead the team. RJ Ocampo collected a team high six blocks while Taylor and Travis Abele each posted three. The team hit .329 in the match with 31 kills on 73 attempts and only seven errors.


Garrett Fitzsimmons led the way for the Roadrunners with eight kills while Eric Van Thuyne collected six. Lucas Inglis dished out a team high 24 assists while Inglis led the team on defense with seven digs. The team recorded 25 kills on 87 attempts with 26 errors.

In the second match of the day, Stevenson battled back to take games three and four to force a game five. Landon Shorts led the way in the match with 25 kills on 38 attempts with just four errors to hit .553. Nate Reynolds and Logan Smiley posted 13 and ten kills respectively. Jared Chin collected a team high 55 assists while Andy Van Thuyne posted a team high 16 digs on defense. Nathan Bossee tallied three kills while he added five blocks. The team hit .344 in the match with 61 kills on 125 attempts and 18 errors.

Ramapo was once again led by Fitzsimmons with 13 kills while Paul Close collected 11 kills on 25 attempts with three errors as he hit .320 in the match. Brenden Russell and Van Thuyne posted eight and seven kills each while Russell collected two blocks. Inglis led the way with 44 assists and Van Thuyne posted a team high 12 digs on defense and a team high four aces. The team hit .246 in the match with 49 kills on 118 attempts and 20 errors.

The Roadrunners return to action on Tuesday, February 27th when they travel to CVC rival Rutgers-Newark University for a match at 7pm.
