WOMEN'S BASKETBALL DEFEATS NJCU ON THE ROAD

Jersey City, NJ:  The Ramapo College women's basketball team defeated New Jersey City University 60-30 today at the John J. Moore Athletic Center. The Roadrunners improve to 7-17 overall and 4-13 in the NJAC while the Gothic Knights now stand at 0-20 overall and 0-17 in the conference.
 
The Roadrunners opened the game on a 7-0 run and never looked back recording a thirty-point road victory. Jenna Harsh started the game with a layup and a three-pointer before Jessica Repasy put in a basket for the 7-0 lead. Jesenia Montalvo would put NJCU on the board with a jumper 7-2. Following a Desi Brower free throw, Pamela Ramnarian hit a jumper for the Gothic Knights as they shrunk the Ramapo lead to 8-4. That is the closest that NJCU would get the remainder of the game as Ramapo used an eight point run and seven point run in the second quarter to pull away.
 
Amber Sagan led the way for Ramapo with 12 points while she grabbed four rebounds and one steal. Kelly McNulty posted nine points, four rebounds and one steal as Erin Fischer contributed with a team high five assists while she added eight points and four rebounds. Stacey Porzl added six points, four rebounds and two assists while Jessica Repasy also scored six points in the game. The team shot 36% (22-61) from the field, 35% (7-20) from the three-point line and 81% (9-11) from the free throw line.
 
Leah Seickendick led the way for NJCU with ten points, five rebounds, five assists and two steals while Gianna Benacquista grabbed a team high eight rebounds while she added five points, three steals and a team high four blocks. The team shot 17% (11-64) from the field, 15% (5-33) from the three-point line and 37% (3-8) from the free throw line.
 
The Roadrunners return to action on Wednesday, February 14th at 5:30pm when they host Rowan University in the final regular season home game of the season. Ramapo will honor their senior class in a ceremony prior to the game.
