Mahwah, NJ: The Ramapo College women's basketball team opened the 2018-2019 season with a convincing win over Lehman College tonight at the Bradley Center 72-34. The Roadrunners start the season 1-0 overall while Lehman stands at 0-1 overall.

Jessica Repasy led Ramapo with 17 points, a career high, as she finished the game 7-8 from the floor and 3-3 from the three-point line. She also grabbed a team high seven rebounds.
Tia Solomon added ten points while she grabbed six rebounds and collected a team high four blocks.
Amber Sagan contributed with seven points and three assists while
Stacey Porzl posted a team high four assists. The Roadrunners recorded nine made three-pointers in the game while they out rebounded Lehman 48-43 overall.

Ramapo jumped out to a 7-0 lead to open the game. Solomon and Sagan hit back-to-back jumpers before
Cara Faulkner sank a three-pointer off a pass from Sagan. Lehman got on the board with a pair of free throws from Lisa Fields before Repasy scored a basket for Ramapo to take a 9-2 lead. Fields then converted on an and-one play with a jumper and made foul shot before Repasy hit her first three-pointer of the game to extend the lead to seven before Lehman made the final two baskets of the first quarter as Ramapo led 12-8 leading into the second quarter.

The Roadrunners out scored Lehman in the second quarter 18-6 as they led 30-14 heading into halftime. The second quarter was highlighted by an 11-1 run which put the Roadrunners up 26-13. In the third quarter, Ramapo would take a 41-14 lead which included two three-pointers in the first five minutes of the quarter before they led 58-20 heading into the final quarter of play.
Caleigh McAnuff would give Ramapo their biggest lead of the game 66-22 with a jumper in the fourth before Lehman got the lead down to 70-34 with under a minute to play.
Desi Brower scored the final baskets for either team as she sank a pair of free throws for the 72-34 win.

Ramapo shot 45% from the field (24-53), 37% from the three-point line (9-24) and 65% from the free throw line (15-23). Ramapo also posted seven steals and forced 18 Lehman turnovers.

Lehman was led by Field who posted a team high 17 points including finishing 9-15 on the free throw line. She also grabbed eight rebounds and four steals. Selima Sangare posted six points and eight rebounds and Nia Watson and Angela Oats each contributed with four points. The team shot 18% from the field (12-65) and 52% (10-19) from the free throw line.

The Roadrunners return to action on Tuesday, November 13th when they travel to Centenary College for a non-conference game at 7pm.
