Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

RAMAPO BLANKS BERKELEY 5-0

Mawhah, NJ:  The Ramapo College men's soccer team posted their seventh shutout of the season in a 5-0 non-conference victory over Berkeley College (NJ) today at the Athletic Center. The Roadrunners improve to 11-2 overall while the Knights drop to 3-8 on the season.
 
Ramapo got on the board in the first half when Bashkim Saiti scored his first goal of the season off a pass from Nick Petroziello to take a 1-0 lead. Saiti collected the pass 30-yards out and hit the upper 90 of the goal to put the Roadrunners on the board in the 11th minute (10:02). The score held as Ramapo went into halftime up 1-0.
 
The Roadrunners added four goals in the second half. Peter Livanis scored his first goal of the season (53:41) when Saiti sent a pass into the box to Guilherme DeNovaes who flicked it to Livanis who hit the back of the net for a 2-0 score. Ramapo was awarded a penalty kick after a foul in the box in the 58th minute (57:41) as DeNovaes converted to extend the Roadrunner lead 3-0.
 
Joseph Fala then scored back-to-back goals for Ramapo to push the lead 5-0. His first goal came in the 62nd minute (61:45) as Jorge Castro and Ariton Mimini earned the assists. Fala then tallied his team leading 16th goal of the season in the 72nd minute (71:08), also assisted from Castro following a corner kick. Joshua Schaffer recorded eight saves in the game for the Roadrunners in the shutout.
 
Robert Parker collected 10 saves for Berkeley in just over 63 minutes of action while Max Moya worked the final 27 minutes of the game for the Knights. Ramapo held a 27-12 advantage in shots in the game while they earned 10 corner kicks to Berkeley's six.
 
The Roadrunners return to action on Wednesday, October 10th when they host NJAC rival Kean University (5-3-3, 1-3-1 NJAC) at 3:30pm.
