RIDGWAY, FRASCELLA EACH POST CAREER HIGH IN KILLS IN LOSS TO WPU

Mahwah, NJ:  The William Paterson University women's volleyball team secured a spot in the upcoming NJAC Tournament with a 3-1 (25-20, 22-25, 25-21, 25-21) conference victory over Ramapo College tonight at the Bradley Center. The Pioneers improve to 21-4 overall, 4-4 in the conference while the Roadrunners stand at 9-19 overall and 2-6 in the conference.
 
Three Pioneers recorded double-digit kills in the match as Amanda Lembo led the team hitting .413 with 21 kills on 46 attempts and just two errors. She also posted 13 digs while Alyson Toman hit .406 with 14 kills on 32 attempts and just one error. Jamie O'Shea put down 11 kills while she added 14 digs, seven assists and one block. Chelliah Phillips recorded six kills while she added two assists, three digs and one solo block. Kendall Caruso led the team with 45 assists while she posted 19 digs and one block. On defense, Dakota Apicella led the way with 22 digs while she collected two aces. The team tallied 60 kills on 182 attempts and 14 errors to hit .253 in the match. WPU will earn the #6 seed in the NJAC Tournament which begins on Oct. 30th as they travel to #3 Kean University.
 
The Roadrunners were led by Morgan Ridgway who posted 18 kills, a career high, while adding nine digs and two aces. Hannah Frascella contributed with 17 kills, also a career high, while she added one ace and 15 digs. Kristina Semple led the way on defense with 26 digs. Kate Shirkey posted a team high 33 assists while Sara Correa added 17 assists and ten digs in the match. Aniella Bednarz posted two solo blocks and four kills while Anna Granquist recorded two aces and 16 digs. The team posted 54 kills in the match on 190 attempts and 23 errors to hit .163.
 
Ramapo returns to action on Thursday, October 24th when they host the City College of New York at 7pm in a non-conference match starting at 7pm.
