Mahwah, NJ: The Ramapo College women's soccer team blanked New Paltz today 1-0 in non-conference action at the Athletic Center. The Roadrunners improve to 3-11 overall while the Hawks now stand at 2-13-1 on the season.
Neither team could find the back of the net in regulation sending the game into overtime. The game looked to be heading into a second overtime before
Erika Signorile took a pass from
Liliann Vizcaino inside the box and ripped it past the Hawks keeper for the game-winning goal. Signorile's second goal of the season game with just 1:17 left on the clock in the first overtime period.
Ramapo recorded 25 shots in the game and 13 on goal while the Hawks posted 10 shots in the game and six on goal. Roadrunner goalie
Elizabeth Harvell collected six saves in the shutout victory. Megan Tornatore posted 12 saves for New Paltz. The Hawks edged the Roadrunners 5-2 in corner kicks.
The Roadrunners return to action on Saturday, October 20th when they host Rowan University (11-1-2 overall, 5-0-2 NJAC) at 1pm. Ramapo will honor their senior class in a pre-game ceremony.
