Glassboro, NJ: The Rowan University field hockey team remained undefeated with a 7-0 shutout over Ramapo College today in NJAC action. The #5 ranked Profs improve to 14-0 overall and 4-0 in the conference while the Roadrunners are now 4-9 on the year and 0-4 in the conference.
Rowan scored five goals in the first half including two from Bridget Guinan. Kristina Castagnola scored the eventual game-winner just 2:10 into the game. Guinan then scored the first of her three goals in the game (13:25) off an assist from Krystyna Hovell. Bridget Boyle then scored the third goal of the game (20:06) as Rachel Galante earned the assist. Guinan (21:44) and Liz Fox (22:55) scored exactly 1:11 minutes apart to extend the Prof lead 5-0 heading into halftime.
In the second half, Guinan scored (36:54) her third goal of the game off a pass from Julie Johnson before Myranda McCabe scored unassisted in the 47th minute of the game to make it 6-0. The Profs held a 46-2 advantage in shots in the game including 28-1 on goal.
Victoria Ewanis recorded two defensive saves in the game while Ramapo goalie
Samantha Stolker tallied a career high 19 saves.
The Roadrunners return to action on Tuesday, October 16th when they host Kean University in a NJAC game at 4pm.
