Mahwah, NJ: The Stockton University women's volleyball team moved to 6-0 in the New Jersey Athletic Conference and 21-4 overall as they held off Ramapo College in game three for a 3-0 (25-19, 25-19, 26-24) conference win. The Roadrunners now stand at 6-18 overall and 1-5 in the conference.
Allie Desmond led both teams with 17 kills while Julie Kohloff tallied seven kills as she added a team high three total blocks. Emily Sullivan hit .556 in the match with six kills on nine attempts and just one error. Sullivan also led the team with 28 assists while she added three aces, seven digs and two blocks. Natalie Miller led the team on defense with 17 digs while she added two assists in the match. Christie Louer posted five kills, three assists, two aces and ten digs. The Ospreys recorded 43 kills as a team in the match.
In the third set the Roadrunners saw themselves down 9-5 before they would come back to tie the game 13-13 on a kill from
Hannah Frascella. Ramapo would pull ahead 20-17 on back-to-back kills from Frascella and
Morgan Ridgway before Stockton called a timeout. Coming out of the timeout, the Ospreys would go on a 3-0 run to tie the game 20-20. The two teams went point for point before Ramapo took a 23-22 lead on a kill from
Aniella Bednarz. Louer tied the game at 23 with a kill for Stockton before Ridgway made it 24-23 for the Roadrunners with a kill of her own. Desmond once again tied the game for Stockton 24-24 before the Ospreys would take the game and the match 26-24 on two errors from Ramapo.
Ridgway and Frascella each collected 11 kills in the game to lead Ramapo. Frascella hit .321 in the match with 11 kills on 28 attempts and just two errors, she also posted five digs and one block. Bednarz recorded a team high five blocks in the match including four solo blocks while
Kate Shirkey posted a team high 20 assists.
Kristina Semple led the team with 16 digs while
Anna Granquist collected ten digs of her own along with two aces and one assist. The team posted 30 kills in the match.
The Roadrunners host their final tri-match of the season on Saturday, October 13th when they host Wells College and Sage College. Ramapo will play Wells at 11am before Wells and Sage will take the court at 1pm. Ramapo will then host Sage at 3pm.
