SEVEN DIFFERENT ROADRUNNERS SCORE IN 9-1 WIN OVER CCNY

Mahwah, NJ:  The Ramapo College men's soccer team moved to 10-1 overall with a 9-1 non-conference victory over the City College of New York today at the Athletic Center. The Beavers now stand at 0-7-1 overall.
 
Joseph Fala led the team with two goals and three assists on the day. Fala leads the team with 14 goals this season while he tacks on five assists for a team high 33 points. Trevor Albrecht put the Roadrunners on the board in the first five minutes of the game with an unassisted goal, his second of the year for a 1-0 lead. Fala then netted his first goal of the game (10:44) off an assist from Albrecht before he would assist on the next three goals for the Roadrunners. Chris Nash (11:37), Albrecht (13:25) and Nick Petrozziello (15:10) each found the back of the net off passes from Fala as they pushed the score to 5-0. Fala then scored his 14th goal of the season off a dish from Justin Charkowski while Edward Franzoni connected with Bashkim Saiti in the final seconds of the first half (44:53) to score his second goal of the season. The Roadrunners led 7-0 going into the second half.
 
CCNY scored their goal in the second half when Christopher Lavelle sent a free kick into the box in the 52nd minute (51:34) as Salim Kounaweh recorded his first goal of the season. Peter Livanis and Ronald Mendez each scored unassisted for the Roadrunners in the 57th (56:45) and 83rd (82:36) minutes respectively, extending the Ramapo lead 9-1.
 
Ramapo out shot CCNY 20-9 in the game while the Roadrunners held a slight edge in corner kicks 4-3. Joshua Schaffer started the first half for Ramapo as he recorded one save while Jewlin Cabrera got the nod to start the second half making three saves of his own.
 
The Roadrunners return to action on Saturday, October 6th when they travel to NJAC rival Montclair State University for a game at 3pm.
