Montclair, NJ:  The Ramapo College men's soccer team dropped a tough New Jersey Athletic Conference match-up this afternoon to the Red Hawks of Montclair State University on the road, 0-2.  With the loss the Roadrunners fall to 10-2 overall and 3-2 in conference play while the Red Hawks improve to 12-1-1 overall and remain undefeated in the conference at 5-0.

The Red Hawks took a 1-0 lead in the 25th minute as Jose Huerta scored off an assist from Michael Knapp and Rafael Terci.  Ramapo would out shoot MSU, 7-5 in the first 45 minutes of play but was unable to hit the back of the net ending the first half in MSU's favor, 1-0.

Joshua Schaffer made three saves in the net for Ramapo and Mike Saalfrank made three of his own for the Red Hawks while Montclair edged Ramapo in corners, 1-0.

In the second half of play, Chaz Burnett gave MSU a 2-0 advantage off an assist by Jake Seaman at the 68:11 minute mark.  Montclair led Ramapo in shots in the second with 13 but Ramapo collected 11 in the evenly played period.  

Schaffer added four more saves in the period and Saalfrank added three.  Each team earned five corners in the final half of play.

Ramapo returns to action on Monday, October 8th when they host Berkeley College for a 3:30pm kick-off at home.
