Mahwah, NJ: The Ramapo College men's swim team defeated Widener University today 145-121 in non-conference action. The Roadrunners now stand at 3-4 overall while the Pride drop to 6-3 overall.
The Roadrunners started off the meet by winning the 400-yard medley relay in 3:40.68. The team was made up of
Tomer Bachar,
Sean Flannery,
Jose Alferez and
Andrew Ramos.
Chaz Cella and
Nicholas Markwell posted 1-2 finishes in the 1,000-yard freestyle with times of 10:15.15 and 10:42.98 respectively. Bachar won the 100-yard backstroke (55.24) while
Matt Stenger was right behind him in 57.50.
Sam Cossaboon (1:00.97) and Flannery (1:01.19) went 1-2 in the 100-yard breaststroke while Alferez won the 200-yard butterfly when he touched the wall in 2:05.16. Alferez also won the 200-yard backstroke (2:01.61) while Bachar placed second (2:01.77) and
Tyler Czubachowski placed third with a time of 2:06.42.
Cossaboon won the 200-yard breaststroke when he hit the wall in 2:13.38 while Flannery place second in 2:16.53. Cella posted a winning time of 4:57.98 in the 500-yard freestyle while Markwell placed third in 5:10.96.
The Roadrunners return to action on Tuesday, January 30th when they host NJAC rival William Paterson University at 6pm.
