WPU TOPS RAMAPO IN NJAC WOMEN'S SOCCER ACTION

Wayne, NJ:  The William Paterson University women's soccer team defeated Ramapo College tonight 4-0 in NJAC action. The Pioneers improve to 5-4 overall, 1-2 in the NJAC while the Roadrunners now stand at 3-5 overall and 1-2 in the conference.  
 
WPU scored three goals in the first half; all three goals Marisa Adelman had a part in. The first goal came in the 24th minute (23:12) an unassisted goal from Adelman, her seventh of the season. Kristina Favo took a pass from Adelman in the 30th minute (29:04), her first of the year to make it 2-0 Pioneers before Adelman tallied her eighth goal of the season off pass from Diana Perez, 3-0, in the 41st minute (40:02).
 
The Pioneers added one more goal in the second half to extend their lead 4-0. Perez scored her first goal of the season off a pass from Adrianna Oliveira in the 74th minute (73:28). The Pioneers collected all five corner kicks in the game while they held a 19-9 advantage in shots while they posted nine shots on goal to Ramapo's five. Elizabeth Harvell posted five saves for the Roadrunners while Angela Sandelli collected five saves in the shutout for WPU in the win.
 
Ramapo returns to action when they host Rutgers-Camden University on Saturday, September 30th in a NJAC game at 1pm. The Roadrunners fell to the Scarlet Raptors 3-1 on the road during the 2016 season. Amber Hermanns scored for Ramapo while Liliann Vizcaino tallied the assist.
