Purchase, NY: The Manhattanville College field hockey team posted a 2-1 overtime victory over Ramapo College in a non-conference game. The Valiants improve to 2-7 overall while the Roadrunners now stand at 4-5 on the year.
The first half was scoreless before Mville got on the board in the second half in the 51st minute (50:10) when Emily Antinozzi tallied her fourth goal of the season off a pass from Robin Boot. The Roadrunners would tie the game in the 59th minute (58:06) when
Victoria Ewanis scored her fourth goal of the season and
Lauren Berry tallied the assist for a 1-1 score.
Neither team would find the back of the net in regulation sending the game into overtime. Boot recorded the game-winner for the Valiants with an unassisted goal in the 72nd minute (71:18) to propel Manhattanville to a 2-1 win. The Valiants held a 22-9 advantage in shots in the game and a 14-8 advantage in penalty corners.
Emily Wisneski collected ten saves for the Roadrunners while
Stacey Faria collected a goal line save for Ramapo in the game. Elaina Nacinovich tallied three saves for Mville while Haley Linkroum recorded two defensive saves in the game.
The Roadrunners return to Immaculata University on Saturday, September 30th for a 1pm non-conference game.
