Pomona, NJ: The Ramapo College women's volleyball team came back to defeat NJAC rival Stockton University on the road 3-1 (14-25, 25-19, 25-22, 25-23). The Roadrunners remain undefeated in conference play with a 3-0 record while they improve to 12-3 overall. The Ospreys drop to 8-6 overall and 1-2 in the NJAC.
After dropping the first set to the Ospreys the Roadrunners out played Stockton to win the next three games to take the match 3-1. Senior
Larysa Iwaskiw led the Roadrunners with 21 kills and a team high 19 digs while she also added one assist, three aces and one block. Rookie Hanna Frascella and sophomore
Karina Almeda each collected six kills in the match while Almeda was second on the team with 18 digs. Sophomore
Samantha Main, who came up big with a solo block and a kill for the final two points of game four, tallied three kills, and three total blocks to lead Ramapo. Sophomore

Sara Correa split the setting duties in the match as Shirkey tallied 17 assist while Correa recorded 12. Shirkey also posted seven digs and one ace. Sophomore Felecia Jimenez contributed with three kills, three digs and one solo block. The team hit .087 in the match with 40 kills on 161 attempts and 26 errors while they collected eight aces and six total blocks.
For the Ospreys, Stephanie Kovacs and Sara Walsh paced the team with 11 and ten kills respectively while Franseska Gustave added eight kills of her own. Walsh added 15 digs and three blocks while Emily Sullivan dished out a team high 19 assists. Alice Brandt added 12 assists and added eight digs. Natalie Miller led the team on defense with 18 digs. Gustave, Charlotte Leon and Allie Desmond each collected five blocks in the match. The Ospreys hit .163 with 44 kills on 141 attempts and 21 errors while they recorded four aces.
This is this is the first time under head coach Rob Pichardo that the Roadrunners defeated Stockton on their home court. Ramapo earned a 3-1 win during the 2016 regular season at the Bradley Center.
Ramapo returns to action on Friday, September 29th at home when they host Muhlenberg College at 6pm in a non-conference match. Lebanon Valley and Union will play on court two in the other match at 6pm.
