Bronx, NY: The Ramapo College men's soccer team earned a 3-2 win over Lehman College today in non-conference action. The Roadrunners improve to 4-5 overall while the Lightning now stand at 6-3 overall.
After a scoreless first half for both teams the Roadrunners scored back-to-back goals to take a 2-0 lead.
Peter Livanis put Ramapo on the board with an assist from
Joseph Fala in the 51st minute (51:30) before Livanis and
Ariton Mimini each tallied an assist on the second goal of the game when
Brady White was able to redirect the ball off his head into the back of the net in the 53rd minute (52:25).
Lehman scored their first goal in the 82nd minute (81:42) when Nabi Ben Bangoura converted a penalty kick to come within one 2-1. Just over six minutes (87:45) later
Edward Reyes tallied the eventual game-winner for the Roadrunners off a pass from
Bardi Meta to take a 3-1 lead. Lehman shrunk the Roadrunner lead by one goal in the final minute (89:23) when Adou Tchakoura scored an unassisted goal. The Roadrunners held on in the final moments to secure the 3-2 road win.
Lehman held a 17-5 advantage in shots in the game including six on goal to Ramapo's four. Bryan Jones Jr. collected four saves for the Roadrunners while Chris Mulholland tallied one save in 81:42 minutes of action for Lehman. Abdulmumin Ayub did played the final 8:18 for the Lightning.
The Roadrunners return to action when they host NJAC rival William Paterson University at the Athletic Center on Wednesday afternoon at 4pm. The Pioneers who currently stand at 7-2 overall and 1-1 in the NJAC defeated the Roadrunners 2-0 during the 2016 season.
