Trevor Albrecht led the Ramapo College men's soccer team today to a 3-0 shut out over Lancaster Bible as he collected four points in the team's first win of the 2017 season. The Roadrunners stand at 1-1 overall and return to action on Thursday, September 7th when they host Whitman College at 4pm at the Athletic Center.
Just under six minutes into the game (5:41) Albrecht started a sequence which would end with
Edward Franzoni pushing the ball to
Ariton Mimini. Mimini then collected the first goal of the game to put Ramapo on top, 1-0. The goal was Mimini's first of his collegiate career and would end up being the game winner as
Ryan Sprague shut out Lancaster Bible collecting four saves in the complete game to earn his first shut out of the season.
At 21:39, Albrecht would collect a goal of his own as he ripped a rebounded ball in the back of the net past the diving Lancaster goaltender, and in the second half (73:01), Albrecht crossed the ball into the six where
Peter Livanis stood, knocking in a goal with his head.
The Roadrunners out shot Lancaster Bible, 14-6 in the game and recorded the lone corner kick of the match. Thiago Naque collected three saves in the net for Lancaster.
