Gianna Mouskourie and
Emily Wisneski led the Ramapo College field hockey team to a 1-0 shutout over Gettysburg College today at the Athletic Center. The Roadrunners open the season 1-0 while the Bullets fall to 0-1.

Neither team could hit the back of the cage in the first half while Gettysburg led in shots 10-4. The Roadrunners were awarded a penalty stroke in the second half (49:11) and Mouskourie made sure to put Ramapo on the scoreboard with her first goal of the season taking a 1-0 lead.

Gettysburg would not go down without a fight as they had a few good chances to score late in the game while Ramapo goalie Wisneski made some fantastic diving saves to hold onto the shutout. The Bullets led 22-12 in shots in the game while they held a 9-4 advantage in penalty corners. Wisneski finished the game with 19 saves while
Stephanie Gallo earned a defensive save in the second half when she stopped a would be goal in the 21st minute. In the win this afternoon, Ramapo head coach
Jennifer Tafro earns her first career victory as a head at the collegiate level.

Haley Mowery posted nine saves for Gettysburg while Julia Soares led them with nine shots.

The Roadrunners return to action on Monday when they travel to Bryn Mawr College for a non-conference game at 1:00pm.
