Mahwah, NJ: The Ramapo College women's tennis team defeated conference rival Kean University tonight at the Athletic Center 9-0. The Roadrunners improve to 2-0 overall and 1-0 in the NJAC while the Cougars now stand at 0-3 overall and 0-2 in the conference.
The Roadrunners shutout the Cougars in their first NJAC match of the season.
Sabrina Koropchak and
Emily Biunno won a tiebreaker set at first doubles to win 9-8 (7-3). At fifth singles,
Megha Mehta earned an exciting 6-1, 7-6 (7-4) victory.
The Roadrunners return to action tomorrow afternoon when they play two NJAC conference matches, both on the road. They will travel to Rutgers-Camden for a match at 12:00pm before they take a trip over to the College of New Jersey for a match at 3:30pm. Last season Ramapo defeated the Scarlet Raptors 7-2 while they fell to the Lions 9-0.
