Mahwah, NJ: The Hunter College women's volleyball team improved to 4-1 on the year with a non-conference win, 3-0 (25-20, 25-15, 25-22) over Ramapo College today at the Bradley Center. The Roadrunners now stand at 3-2 on the year.
The Hawks and Roadrunners met four times last season seeing Ramapo come out on top in each match. In the match tonight, the Hawks used a balanced attack as Julia Connolly and Taylor Haiduk posted 12 and 11 kills respectively. Haiduk also posted 17 digs while Connolly added 11. Haley Trunkett led the team with 24 digs in the match on defense while she recorded three assists and one kill. Marlena Budna hit .429 in the match with seven kills on 14 attempts with one error while she also led the team with five blocks including two solo blocks. The team hit .202 in the match with 37 kills on 114 attempts with 14 errors while they tallied six aces.

Larysa Iwaskiw who recorded 19 kills in the match while she posted ten digs. Rookie
Hannah Frascella added four kills and one block while sophomore
Kate Shirkey and rookie
Sara Correa split the setting duties. Shirkey dished out a team high 17 assists while Correa posted 12 of her own. Sophomore
Karina Almeda led the team with 12 digs on defense while Shirkey recorded 11 in the match. Ramapo hit .072 in the match with 29 kills on 125 attempts with 20 errors.
The Roadrunners return to action on Friday when they host the Roadrunner Invitational. Ramapo hosts SUNY Potsdam, University of Scranton, Mount Saint Mary College, St. Joseph's LI and FDU-Florham.
