Galloway, NJ: The Ramapo College women's lacrosse team fell to the Ospreys of Stockton University today, 6-11 on the road in a New Jersey Athletic Conference match-up. With the loss the Roadrunners now stand at 5-5 overall and 0-1 in the conference. The Ospreys improve to 7-1 overall and 1-0 in the NJAC.
The Ospreys would take a 4-0 lead to start the game before
Katie Duca got the Roadrunners on the board with a free position goal, but the Ospreys responded with three unanswered goals to go ahead 7-1 with 4:24 to play in the first half.
Molly Warner and
Nicole Jaskot recorded goals of their own to close the gap 7-3 heading into the intermission.
Stockton out shot Ramapo 19-8 in the half while Maura Twiggs made two saves in the net for the Ospreys.
Taylor Marcialis played the first 20 minutes of the game for Ramapo collecting one save with six goals against.
In the final 30 minutes of play, the Ospreys would out score Ramapo 4-3 to take home the 11-6 victory.
Brianna Himpele, Jaskot and
Alyssa Tachon each scored a goal for Ramapo while
Monica Bubello played the remainder of the game in goal collecting eight saves. Ramapo held an advantage in shots in the second half at 10-9.
For the game, Stockton held a 20-16 edge in ground balls and both teams committed 24 turnovers.
Ramapo returns to action on Tuesday, April 11th when they host NJAC rival Kean University at home at 4pm.
