Monclair, NJ: The Ramapo College baseball team defeated Montclair State University 13-4 today at Yogi Berra Stadium to complete the sweep of the NJAC conference home-and-home series. The Roadrunners improve to 20-14 overall, 14-3 in the NJAC while the Red Hawks fall to 14-21 overall and 6-10 in the conference.
Ramapo scored the first run of the game in the top of the first inning when

Joe Maugeri wit a sac fly to right field.
Rob DeAngelis later scored when
Connor Walsh laced a RBI single through the left side of the infield to take a 2-0 lead. DeAngelis plated
Austin Unglaub in the top of the third inning with a RBI double before
Bobby Shannon singled home Martinez to take a 4-0 lead.
MSU got one run back in the bottom of the fourth inning when Joe Norton plated Kevin Campbell with a sac fly 4-1. Three straight walks with two outs in the bottom of the fifth inning and a single from Ian Lynch plated MSU's second run of the game before a bases loaded walk put the Red Hawks within one 4-3. Ramapo extended their lead in the top of the sixth inning with four runs on five hits. Martinez stepped up to the plate with the bases loaded and smacked a double of the left field wall clearing the bases for a 7-3 lead. Walsh would drive home Martinez with a single to extend the lead 8-3. In the top of the seventh, the Roadrunners added five runs for a 13-3 score. The Red Hawks added their fourth run in the bottom of the eighth when Jesse Baiza plated Ryan Thieme with a double 13-4.
The Roadrunners pounded out 19 hits in the game as Walsh led the team with a 4-5 day at the plate with three RBI. Maugeri was 3-5 with three runs scored and two RBI while DeAngelis finished 3-4 with three runs scored and one RBI. Martinz posted five RBI to lead the team finishing 1-2 at the plate with two runs scored.
John Doherty earned a no-decision in the game as she struck out two, walked three and scattered six hits over the first 4.2 innings.
Kevin Foulds (2-0) earned the win in relief with 2.1 innings of work with one strikeout, four walks and one hit.
Ramapo extended their win streak to 11 as they head into the final regular season NJAC double-header of the season tomorrow against Stockton University. The Roadrunners take on the Ospreys at 11:30am.
