Mahwah, NJ: The Ramapo College baseball team extended their win streak to seven games with an 19-4 victory over William Paterson University today at Jeff Maund Field in a New Jersey Athletic Conference match-up. With the victory the Roadrunners improve to 16-14 overall and 9-3 in the NJAC while the Pioneers drop to 12-16-2 overall, 5-7 in the conference.

WPU got on the board first with one run in the top of the 1st inning when Matt Ferrara singled and later came home as Anthony Hoagland singled down the left field line.

Ramapo would score three runs in the bottom half of the inning to take a 3-1 lead.
Joe Maugeri led off with a single before he moved to second on a sac bunt.
Rob DeAngelis poked a single to left field to put runners on first and third.
Brandon Martinez then laced a double to left field plating Maugeri before
Connor Walsh lifted a sac fly to right field plating DeAngelis to take a 2-1 lead. Martinez then scored on an infield throwing error extending the lead to 3-1. In the 2nd inning Ramapo added two runs when Martinez singled to left field scoring Maugeri and
Austin Unglaub for a 5-1 advantage. The Roadrunners added insurance in 3rd inning extending their lead 6-1 as
Derek Romberg recorded a sac fly to right field allowing
Bobby Shannon to score.

In the 4th inning WPU added two runs to come within three. Mike Knauf reached on a fielder's choice with the bases loaded as Vin Dorio scored and Jorge Solodkin recorded a RBI sac bunt that allowed Hoagland to score.

Ramapo added two runs in the bottom of the 5th when Unglaub picked up two RBI with a single as Romberg and Maugeri came around to score for an 8-3 Ramapo advantage. Fontanella made it 10-3 in favor of the Roadrunners with a big two RBI double to the left-center field gap in the bottom of the 6th. Â A huge 8th inning for the Roadrunners with eight additional runs would give the Roadrunners the 19-4 conference win.

CJ Growney pitched eight innings for Ramapo and earns the win to improve to 4-3 on the year as he struck out seven and walked two. Eric Rosenberg takes the loss for the Pioneers. He pitched five innings striking out none, letting up 16 hits and nine earned runs.

Maugeri went 3-5 for Ramapo with three runs and Unglaub hit 4-5 with three runs scored and two batted in.  DeAngelis hit 3-3 with one run scored as Martinez went 3-4 with one run scored and three RBI.  Shannon collected three hits on five at bats with three runs while
Mario Fontanella went 2-3 with two RBI in the win.

For the Pioneers, Hoagland hit 3-4 with one run and one RBI and Ferrara went 1-4 with two runs scored in the loss.

Ramapo returns to action tomorrow when they take on Rutgers Newark in a double-header match-up at 4pm on the road.
