Madison, NJ: The Ramapo College women's lacrosse team dropped a tough, 3-16 decision today to the Devils of FDU-Florham on the road in a non-conference match-up to stand at 5-4 overall on the year. With the win, FDU improves to 6-3 overall.
The Devils would out shoot Ramapo, 32-10 in the win as they picked up 33 ground balls to Ramapo's 24. Megan Nemeth and Erin Gill spilt time in the goal for the Devils with Nemeth making two saves in the first half and taking the win. Gill posted two saves of her own in the final half of play.
Brienna Reasoner and Caitlyn Damon posted four goals each for the team as Noelle Shirey recorded three of her own. Reasoner would open the scoring for the Devils under 30 seconds into the game off an assist from Frances Maggio before Ramapo's
Brianna Himpele evened the score at 1-1 at 25:25. The Devils would score 12 unanswered goals to take a 13-1 lead at the 23:02 minute mark in the final half of play.
Ava Rinaldi would score a free position shot for the Roadrunners and
Alyssa Tachon followed with a goal at 21:38, but it wasn't enough as the Devils scored the final three goals of the game to take the 16-3 win.
Monica Bubello and
Taylor Marcialis split time for Ramapo in the goal. Bubello takes the loss posting five saves and Marcialis played the final 30 minutes collecting just one save.
The Roadrunners return to action on April 8th when they travel to NJAC rival Stockton University for a 1:00pm match-up in Galloway.
