Montclair, NJ:  The Montclair State University women's lacrosse team defeated Ramapo College 17-5 tonight in NJAC action. The Red Hawks improve to 9-4 overall, 2-1 in the NJAC while the Roadrunners fall to 5-7 overall, 0-3 in the conference.
 
MSU scored five straight goals to open the game before Ava Rinaldi scored on a free position shot for Ramapo for a 5-1 score. The Red Hawks added three more goals, taking an 8-1 lead before Colleen Manley scored her 21st goal of the season, unassisted with 11:07 left in the half. MSU added two more goals to close out the first half with a 10-2 lead.
 
MSU scored seven goals in the second half while the Roadrunners added three to their score as the Red Hawks came away with a 17-5 win. Alyssa Tachon scored her team leading 31st goal of the season off a pass from Molly Warner with 22:27 left in the game. Rinaldi then scored on a free position shot at 19:06 before she added her added her third goal for a hat trick with 10:23 on the clock.
 
Taylor Marcialis started in goal for Ramapo recording two saves in 14:04 minutes of action. Monica Bubello finished out the game with 16 saves for the Roadrunners.
 
MSU out shot Ramapo 42-14 in the game. Chelsea Orban led the Red Hawks with five goals while Fancesca Verrone, Lindsay Lare and Aviana Paraggio each tallied three goals.
 
The Roadrunners return to action on Thursday, April 20th when they travel to the College of New Jersey for a conference game at 7pm.
