ROADRUNNERS FALL TO NAZARETH AND SWEEP MEDGAR EVERS

Mahwah, NJ: The Ramapo College men's volleyball team dropped a tough five-set match-up to the Golden Flyers of Nazareth College today, 2-3 (25-21, 14-25, 25-17, 16-25, 12-15) before sweeping the Cougars of Megar Evers College 3-0 (25-9, 25-12, 25-7) at the Bradley Center.
 
Against Nazareth, the Roadrunners jumped ahead, 1-0 behind three kills each from Justin Feigeles and Nick Amos before dropping the second set to tie the match at 1-1.  In the third, Feigeles and Garrett Fitzsimmons each put away three kills to lead the Roadrunners to the win to go ahead 2-1, but the Golden Flyers took the fourth to again tie up the match forcing a fifth and final set.  The fifth set would go against Ramapo as they fell, 12-15.  Feigeles finished with a team high 12 kills and Connor Brandow finished with nine as the team hit a combined 42-125 with 28 errors hitting .112.  Fitzsimmons dished out 35 assists and Brandow led the defense with 12 digs.  Feigeles picked up 11 digs and Terrance Cando added nine in the loss.  For Nazareth, Sam Bittker led the team with 18 kills and Zachary Gillard added 14 while Kane Wittorff added ten kills in the win.  The team hit .277 with 57 kills and 21 errors on 130 attempts.  Jake Kemp dished out 48 assists and Tom Keisling picked up a team leading 17 digs.
 
The second match of the day featured Nazareth and Medgar Evers where the Golden Flyers came out with a sweep 3-0 (25-5, 25-10, 25-15).  With the two wins on the day, Nazareth jumps ahead to 15-8 overall. Trevor Gooch led Nazareth with ten kills and Sean Dillon added six as the team hit .527 with 34 kills and five errors on 55 attempts.  Kemp dished out 13 assists and Jacob Gleason added 17 while Gooch picked up a team leading six digs.  For Medgar Evers, Shaquille Miller led with three kills and the team hit -.116 with eight kills on 43 attempts and 13 errors.  Javon Scott contributed eight assists and Miller and Abdul Kamara each picked up four digs.
 
In the final match of the day, the Roadrunners swept Medgar Evers, 3-0 (25-9, 25-12, 25-7) to improve to 10-7 overall on the year.  With the loss Medgar Evers remains defeated at 0-14.  Stephen Codispodo led the Roadrunners with nine kills and Eric Van Thuyne and Mack Brower each contributed six kills as the team went 37-69 with eight errors hitting .420.  Lucas Inglis dished out 25 assists and Van Thuyne picked up six digs.  Miller led the Cougars with three kills as the team combined for five kills and 12 errors hitting -.149 on 47 attempts.  Scott dished out two assists and Dwight Boone led the defense with nine digs. 
 
The Roadrunners return to action on Tuesday, March 7th when they host Rutgers Newark at home at 7pm.
