Kings Point, NY: The Ramapo College women's lacrosse team defeated the United States Merchant Marine Academy 10-7 in a non-conference game tonight. The Roadrunners improve to 5-3 overall while the Mariners even their record to 2-2 on the year.

Each team scored six goals in the first half before Ramapo pulled away with four second half goals. The Ramapo defense held USMMA to just one goal in the second half.

The Roadrunners held a 32-15 advantage in shots in the game. USMMA took a quick 3-0 lead in the first half with 23:11 left to play. Ramapo scored one minute later when Collen Manley scored her 19th goal of the season while
Ava Rinaldi posted her 11th goal of the year, and first of the game on a free position shot to come within one 3-2. The Mariners hit the back of the next to take a 4-2 lead before Manley scored with 18:01 on the clock, her 20th of the season to make it 4-3. With 7:51 left in the half,
Nicole Jaskot tied the game with a free position shot, scoring her ninth goal of the season for a 4-4 tie. Each team scored to make it 5-5,
Gabi Davidson scored for Ramapo. Rinaldi then scored for Ramapo on a free position shot to take a 6-5 lead with less than five minutes remaining in the half. USMMA tied the game back up at six with a goal at 2:21 from Grace McHugh, her 15th of the season.

It was all Ramapo in the second half as the Roadrunners scored four straight goals, the final with under 11 minutes left to play.
Alyssa Tachon tallied her team leading 23th goal of the season, unassisted for a 7-6 lead before Rinaldi scored her third goal of the game. Rinaldi's eventual game-winning goal came with 19:28 on the clock for an 8-6 lead.
Brianna Himpele and
Marissa Cooney each scored a goal and assisted each other's goal, extending the Roadrunner lead 10-6. USMMA scored their final goal of the game with 8:57 left on the clock when McHugh scored unassisted to make it 10-7.

Monica Bubello recorded five saves in the win for Ramapo. Rinaldi led the Roadrunners with three goals to lead the team on offense while Manley tallied two.

Ramapo returns to action on Sunday, April 2nd when they travel to Fairleigh Dickinson University-Florham for a game at 1pm. Â
