Winter Haven, FL:  The Ramapo College baseball team fell to Endicott College today 6-1 at the RussMatt Invitational. The Roadrunners now stand at 0-2 overall while Endicott moves to 2-0 on the year.
 
Endicott scored two runs in the bottom of the first inning to take a quick 2-0 lead. Nick Berno led off the inning with a walk before advancing to second on a pass ball. He moved to third on a fly ball to the outfield and later scored on an infield ground out for a 1-0 score. Mike DeDonato then singled home Mike Kochiss with a hard hit single up the middle 2-0. The Gulls added single runs in the second and fifth innings to take a 4-0 lead before they added two runs in the bottom of the sixth inning for a 6-0 lead.
 
Ramapo got on the board in the top of the seventh inning. Matt Meola ripped a pinch-hit triple to right-center field before Chris Nierva drove him home with a RBI groundout to first base. 
 
Roadrunner starting pitcher Jerry D'Andrea (0-1) took the loss on the mound. He recorded four strikeouts, four walks while surrendering five hits, four runs (two earned) over five innings of work. Joe Maugeri led the team at the plate finishing 3-3 with one stolen base.
 
Ramapo's second game against Endicott was called due to rain. The Roadrunners return to action tomorrow at 12:30pm against Wheaton College (MA).
