Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

TCNJ REMAINS UNDEFEATED IN WIN OVER RAMAPO

Ewing, NJ:  The #3 College of New Jersey women's soccer team remained undefeated with a 3-0 shutout over Ramapo College this afternoon. With the win the Lions improve to 11-0 overall and 5-0 in the NJAC while the Roadrunners drop to 3-8 overall and 1-4 in the conference.
 
Elizabeth Thoresen helped lead the Lions in the 3-0 victory scoring two goals in the game. She got TCNJ on the board in the 23rd minute (22:42) when she collected a rebound and scored to take a 1-0 lead. The Lions would put their second goal on the board in the final ten seconds of the game when Alexa Pestritto found the back of the net off a free kick in the 45th minute (44:51) for a 2-0 score. TCNJ led 13-0 in shots in the first half.
 
The Lions extended their lead 3-0 in the second half when Thoresen scored her second goal of the game and fourth of the year on a penalty kick in the 82nd minute (81:28). TCNJ collected 14 more shots in the second half while the Roadrunners recorded a shot of their own. The Lions also held a 7-2 advantage in corners in the game. For the Roadrunners, Elizabeth Harvell tallied eight saves in the game while Nicole DiPasquale posted one save in the shutout victory for TCNJ.
 
The Roadrunners return to action on Wednesday, October 11th when they host Rutgers-Newark University in a NJAC game at 3pm. Ramapo defeated Rutgers-Newark during the 2016 season 1-0 on the road.
