ROWAN TOPS RAMAPO IN FIELD HOCKEY ACTION 8-0

WISNESKI HONORED IN PRE-GAME CEREMONY

Mahwah, NJ: Rowan University field hockey team came away with an 8-0 shutout road win over Ramapo College today at the Athletic Center. The Profs improve to 7-5 overall and 1-2 in the NJAC while the Roadrunners now stand at 5-8 overall and 0-2 in the conference.
 
Rowan controlled most of the game as they scored five goals in the first half and three in the second half. Casey Wagner scored her second goal of the year off a penalty corner from as Skyler Pino recorded the save to take a 1-0 lead in the 13th minute of action (12:47). Rachel Galante posted her ninth goal of the season as she collected a rebound off her own shot for a 2-0 lead (15:42). Dayna DeVincentz teamed up with Julie Johnson for the Profs third goal of the game in the 19th minute (18:51) before Jenni Panzarino took a pass from Galante for a 4-0 lead (21:47). Myranda Christy scored an unassisted goal at the end of the half (35:43) to make it 5-0 heading into halftime.
 
Megan Hilbert, Dee Payne and Erika McNulty all collected goals in the second half for the Profs extending their lead to 8-0. The Profs recorded 41 shots in the game and 23 penalty corners while Ramapo collected one shot and one penalty corner.
 
Emily Wisneski recorded a team high 21 saves in the game as she worked the first 58:36 minutes in the cage while Tracy Barhorst saw action in the final 11:24 of the game as she collected one save for the Roadrunners. Carly DeMarco and Morgan Novak split time in the cage for the Profs, neither having to make a save in the game for the shutout win.

Prior to the start of the game Wisneski was honored for becoming the all-time saves leader in Ramapo field hockey history. She broke the record on Sept. 30th in a 3-1 win over Immaculata University where she collected 11 saves including her 466th career save which broke the previous record.

The Roadrunners return to action on Tuesday, October 10th when they travel to #5 The College of New Jersey for a NJAC game at 7:30pm. Last season the Lions defeated Ramapo 7-0.
