Guilherme DeNovaes led the Ramapo College men's soccer team to a New Jersey Athletic Conference win today over the Lions of The College of New Jersey, 1-0. Ramapo improves to 6-7 overall and 2-3 in the conference while the Lions fall to 4-7-2 overall and 0-3-2 in NJAC play.
The two teams played a scoreless first half where the Lions held a slight lead in shots, 8-6 and a commanding lead in corners, 8-0.
Ryan Sprague would collect five saves in the net for Ramapo in the first 45 minutes of play. Daniel Mecadon made no saves in the half for the Lions.
But in the second, DeNovaes would collect his third goal of the season off an assist from
Trevor Albrecht to put the Roadrunners on top, 1-0 at 50:11 and with six second half saves from Sprague, the Roadrunners would collect the 1-0 shut out conference victory.
TCNJ again led in shots in the second half, 7-4 but Ramapo would earn three corners to TCNJ's two. Mecadon would finish the game with three saves.
The Roadrunners return to action on Monday, October 9
th when they host Berkeley College at 3:30pm at the Athletic Center.
