Jersey City, NJ: The Ramapo College men's soccer team shut out the Gothic Knights of New Jersey City University, 1-0 today in a road New Jersey Athletic Conference match-up. With the victory the Roadrunners improve to 8-8 overall and 3-4 in the conference while NJCU falls to 4-8-1 overall and remains defeated in conference play at 0-6-1.
It took just one goal in the first minute of the game for the Roadrunners to earn the NJAC match-up victory.
Ariton Mimini flicked the ball to
Guilherme DeNovaes who would rip the ball past the NJCU net minder. The goal was DeNovaes' fourth of the season.
Ramapo controlled much of the play outshooting the Gothic Knights, 19-9, 13-4 in the first half of play.
Ryan Sprague made four saves in the net for Ramapo and Eric Lopes Silva made three for the Gothic Knights.
The Roadrunners return to action on Wednesday, October 18th when they travel to Western Connecticut for a 7pm non-conference match-up.
