Union, NJ: The #10 Ramapo College men's basketball team defeated NJAC rival Kean University (1-19, 1-12) tonight 82-62 on the road. The Roadrunners extend their win streak to five straight and improve to 19-1 overall and 12-1 in the conference.

Thomas Bonacum led the Roadrunners in the game with 19 points, six rebounds, four assists and four steals.
James Long was perfect from the three-point line (4-4) and posted 15 points and four steals in the game while
Connor Romano and
Nick Stanek each added ten points. Stanek led the Roadrunners with nine rebounds while
Christopher Moseley dished out a team high five assists.
Cory Soanes collected nine points, three assist and one rebound and
Josh Ford contributed with seven points and two assists. Ramapo shot 53% (30-56) from the field, 52% (10-19) from beyond the three-point line and 85% (12-14) from the free throw line. The Roadrunners out rebounded Kean 38-20, while they scored 23 points off of 17 Cougar turnovers.

There was only one tie in the game as the Roadrunners were in control from the start. Bonacum scored the first basket of the game for either team before
Sultan Aminu added a basket to take a quick 4-0 lead in the first minute of action. Long nailed his first three-pointer of the game to take a five point lead 7-2 before Kean went on a mini run 4-0 of their own cutting the lead to one 7-6. The two teams traded baskets over the next five minutes before Kean tied the game at 24 all with a three-pointer from Kennan Williams Jr with 9:16 left in the half.
Lavrone Green scored back-to-back shots for Ramapo, a three-pointer and a layup to put Ramapo back up 29-24. Williams and Romano each hit a three-pointer for their team as Ramapo went up 32-27 with 5:27 on the clock. Romano, Long and Bonacum tallied the next three baskets for the Roadrunners – all three-pointers – as they took their first double-digit lead of the game 41-31 with two minutes left to play. Neither team would score another basket in the first half as they went into the locker room up ten.

Kean came out in the second half and went on a mini 5-0 run before Ramapo stretched their lead back to ten on a made basket from Bonacum 47-37. The Roadrunners used a ten point run to begin to pull away from the Cougars as
Zahir Newell nailed a three-pointer of his own to cap off the run to take an 18 point lead 63-45. That lead stretched to 20 with a basket from Romano before a tip-in from Stanek and a three-pointer from Ford pushed the lead to 74-50 with less than seven minutes left in the game. Kean went on a 7-0 run of their own; as Micah Kerr scored back-to-back layups and Justin Watson added a three-pointer cutting the lead down to 57-74 with 5:44 on the clock. Ramapo outscored Kean down the stretch 8-5 as they came away with the 82-62 NJAC road win. The Cougars were led by Williams adn Tre Gomez who each tallied 12 points. Watson and Mike Summerer posted 11 and ten points respectively while Kerr added ten points as well. Kean shot 44% (23-52) from the field, 52% (10-19) from the three-point line and 66% (6-9) from the free throw line.

The Roadrunners return to action on Wednesday when they host NJAC rival Rutgers-Newark University at the Bradley Center at 7:30PM.
