Kristen Behrens led Ramapo defensively as the Ramapo College women's volleyball team defeated Brooklyn College tonight in the opening match of the Roadrunner Invitational at the Bradley Center. The Roadrunners extend their 12-match win streak and improve to 16-3 overall while the Bulldogs now stand at 3-14 overall.
Larysa Iwaskiw led the Roadrunners on offense with ten kills while
Morgan Ridgway added nine of her own.
Karina Almeda tallied seven kills and three aces while
Kate Shirkey posted a team high 20 assists.
Rachel Selmore dished out 11 assists and
Madison Smith posted six assists during the match. Behrens posted 15 digs to lead the team on defense. Ramapo hit .347 in the match with 47 kills on 98 attempts with 13 errors.
For Brooklyn, Sarina Rozek led the way with two kills and Crystal Wu picked up a team leading nine digs. The team hit -.083 with just four kills on 84 attempts and 11 errors.

Alfred 3 – St. Joe's 0 (25-19, 25-21, 25-14).
Alfred State improved to 10-0 overall on the year as they defeated St. Joe's, 3-0. Bryanna Godfrey recorded 14 kills and Janae Hamilton added eight as the team went 36-96 with 14 errors hitting .229. Madison Szpaicher dished out 29 assists and Madison Webster picked up a team leading 17 digs. Jessica Padley grabbed 12 digs of her own in the shut out win. St. Joe's was led by Kiersten Kissinger who recorded six kills. The Eagles combined for 18 kills with 24 errors hitting -.060 in the loss. Danielle Senecal led the defense with 18 digs and Claire Urizzo picked up 11 of her own.
Alfred 3 – Brooklyn 0 (25-7, 25-18, 25-7)
Alfred continued their undefeated streak downing Brooklyn in three straight sets. Godfrey collected nine kills and Hamilton added six as the team combined hitting .346 with 36 kills and just nine errors on 78 attempts. Szpaicher dished out 24 assists and Webster led the team's defense with ten digs. For Brooklyn, Francesca LoCascio picked up a team leading five kills and Christolia Butler added four as the team went 13-72 with 14 errors hitting -.014. Monineath Pen contributed with 12 assists and also led the team's defense with six digs.
Ramapo returns to action tomorrow at 11am when they face off with St. Joe's in a non-conference match-up.
