IWASKIW LEADS RAMAPO IN 10TH STRAIGHT WIN

Mahwah, NJ:  The Ramapo College women's volleyball team earned two non-conference wins today at Hunter College. In match one, they defeated Manhattanville College 3-0 (25-23, 25-21, 26-24) while in their second match of the day the Roadrunners defeated host Hunter, 3-0 (25-23, 25-20, 25-13). Ramapo improves 14-3 overall with their 10th straight victory.
 
Against Manhattanville, Larysa Iwaskiw led both teams with a season's best 29 kills. She also tallied once ace, one block and 14 digs. Emily Guzman recorded eight kills, one block and four assists while Judy Errichetti added five kills of her own. Kate Shirkey dished out a team high 27 assists while Rachel Selmore added 16 of her own. Kristen Behrens led the team on defense with 15 digs while Karina Almeda added nine in the match. Ramapo hit .309 in the match with 52 kills on 123 attempts and 14 errors.
 
For the Valiants (6-4 overall), Meagan Dattoma and Kerry Mackey each tallied 12 kills while Asia Reid posted eight of her own. Megan Quinabo dished out a match high 31 assists and Samantha Miano posted 16 digs to lead the team. Adrianna Alves added 14 digs while Quinabo posted 11. The team hit .197 in the match with 389 kills on 127 attempts with 14 errors.
 
In their second match of the day against Hunter, Iwaskiw once again led the Roadrunners with 18 kills while she posted seven digs. Guzman added eight kills and Almeda posted four kills. Almeda recorded a team high five aces while Selmore led the team with three blocks and 16 assists. On defense Behrens posted eight digs while Natalia Saavedra contributed with seven. The team hit .231 in the match with 37 kills on 108 attempts with 12 errors.
 
For the Hawks (9-8 overall), the team hit .109 in the match with 33 kills on 110 attempts with 21 errors. Julia Connolly led the team with 12 kills while Taylor Kerr-Haiduk added 11 of her own. Breanna Banske dished out a team high 26 assists while Kerr- Haiduk posted a team high 14 digs. Cristy Pariama tallied 13 digs while Miranda Hogan added 11 in the match.
 
The Roadrunners return to action on Tuesday night at the Bradley Center when they take on NJAC rival Stockton University at 7pm.
