Emily Biunno helped lead the Ramapo College women's tennis team to a 6-3 win over NJAC rival William Paterson University today at the Athletic Center. The Roadrunners improve their overall record to 2-1 and 1-1 in the NJAC while the Pioneers stand at 0-6 overall and 0-4 in the conference.
Ramapo tallied two team points with wins at second and third doubles. Biunno and
Abbey Tremonte earned a tough 8-5 win at second doubles while Megha Mehta and Brittany Metzlaff posted an 8-3 win at third doubles.
At second singles, Biunno batted back from being down after the first set. She recorded a 2-6, 6-4, 10-5 win over Kaworu Ishikawa. Sharon Cerrassky earned a 6-3, 7-5 win at third singles while Mehta posted a 6-1, 6-1 win at fifth singles. Metzlaff wrapped up the Roadrunner win with a 6-2, 6-1 win at sixth singles.
The Roadrunners return to action when they host NJAC rival Rutgers-Newark University on September 23rd at the Athletic Center at 4pm.
