Mahwah, NJ: The Ramapo College women's tennis team defeated non-conference rival Hunter College 9-0 today at the Athletic Center. The Roadrunners even their overall record to 1-1 while the Hawks now stand at 0-2 overall.
Sabrina Koropchak posted a 6-1, 6-0 win at first singles over Maria Kogarova while
Emily Biunno recorded a 6-3, 6-2 win at second singles over Catherine Ng.
Sharon Cherrassky and Megha Mehta each posted 6-0, 6-0 wins at third and fourth singles while Alexa Reeve defeated Tabitha Davis at fifth singles 6-1, 6-0.
Christine Bednarz wrapped up singles action with a 6-2, 6-1 win at sixth singles over Nataliya Pavlishyn.
The Roadrunners swept the three doubles matches to take a quick 3-0 team lead heading into singles action. Koropchak and Cherrassky won 8-6 in a hard fought match at first doubles while Biunno and Mehta & Bednarz and Brittany Metzlaff posted 8-0 shutout wins at second and third doubles.
The Roadrunners return to action when they host NJAC rival William Paterson University at 4pm on September 21st at the Athletic Center.
