FIELD HOCKEY FALLS AT VASSAR

Poughkeepsie, NY:  The Vassar College field hockey team defeated Ramapo 6-0 this afternoon at Weinberg Field. The Roadrunners fall to 2-3 overall while Vassar improves 5-1 on the year. 

Storm Sideleau got Vassar on the board in the 10th minute of the game (9:35) off a pass from Christina Lopez to put her team up 1-0. Sideleau would scored once again in the 21st minute of the game (20:46) as Alyssa More assisted on the goal for a 2-0 lead. Megan Caveny recorded her third goa (22:18)l of the year off a rebound to put Vassar ahead 3-0 before Sabrina Stacks tallied the final goal of the half (34:50) for a 4-0 lead heading into halftime.

Sideleau once again soared the first goal (39:58) of the second half as she completed the hat trick and put Vassar up 5-0. Emily Poehlein recorded the final goal of the game off an assist from Lopez in the 49th minute (48:26) to take a 6-0 lead. Vassar led both teams in penalty corners with four while Ramapo tallied one. Vassar also posted 35 shots, 27 on goal to Ramapo's two shots in the game. 

Emily Wisneski posted 15 saves for Ramapo in 54:29 minutes of action while Emily Kramer added four saves of her own in 15:31 minutes of action. Ramapo recorded two defensive saves in the game as Nicole Healy and Stacey Faria stopped two goals for the team. 

The Roadrunners return to action on September 22nd when they travel to Western Connecticut State University for a non-conference match at 7pm.
