Schenectady, NY: The Ramapo College women's volleyball team finished day two of the Union Volleyball Tournament 1-1. The Roadrunners fell to Williams College 3-2 (25-22, 25-19, 24-26, 18-25, 12-15) while they defeated host Union 3-2 (20-25, 28-26, 25-20, 22-25, 15-11). The Roadrunners now stand at 5-3 on the season.
Against Williams, the Roadrunners won the first two games before falling behind in games 3 & 4 to force a game five. Williams prevailed 15-12 in game five to take the match 3-2.
Larysa Iwaskiw led the Roadrunner with 17 kills while
Judy Errichetti added 15 of her own and
Emily Guzman tallied seven.
Kate Shirkey led the team with 26 assists while
Rachel Selmore dished out 15 of her own. Iwaskiw posted a team high 28 digs on defense while Kirsten Behrens and
Karina Almeda added 21 and 16 respectively. Almeda also led in service aces with four.
Against host Union College, Ramapo won games two & three and took the match in game five 15-11. Iwaskiw once again led the Roadrunners on the court with 27 kills, three blocks and 26 digs. Errichetti added 19 kills while Guzman posted six kills and three blocks. Shirkey and Selmore dished out 27 and 24 assists respectively while Behrens posted 25 digs.
Sarah Mulligan also added 14 digs on defense.
The Roadrunners return to action on September 13th when they host Baruch College in a non-conference match at 7pm in the Bradley Center.
