Mahwah, NJ:  The Ramapo College women's soccer team opens the 2016 season tomorrow night, September 1st, at 7pm under the lights at non-conference rival Stevens Institute of Technology.

Ramapo lost five starters due to graduation and look to build on last season's success. Head Coach
Abby Shiffler, now in her fifth season at the helm of the Roadrunner program, looks to earn one of the top six spots in the New Jersey Athletic Conference post-season tournament. "We look forward to seeing our returning players step up into new roles and our incoming freshman to have an immediate impact."

Ramapo returns junior captain
Nani Vizcaino who suffered a season ending knee injury the first half of the 2015 season, and was one of the Roadrunners top offensive threats. Vizcaino has great field vision and will have a huge role and presence in the midfield. Senior captain
Kelsey Sutherland will be looked upon to bestow her knowledge of the game to her teammates both on and off the field. Senior captain
Bryce Knoblock also returns to anchor the Ramapo defense while her sister sophomore
Michaela Knoblock returns in a midfield/forward role. Coach Shiffler will look to her to create offensive scoring chances. Junior
Stephanie Bonilla, a very solid center back for the team, she will play a crucial role in the Ramapo defense this season. Sophomore Skylar Rybacki is a solid midfielder and a versatile player who has great presence in the air and can easily move to a defender role if need be.

Joining her sister in the midfield will be rookie
Liliann Vizcaino. She has great knowledge of the game and will make an immediate impact on the field. Coach Shiffler will look to rookies
Claire Ciemniecki and
Michelle Egnasko to make an impact at center back and outside back respectively. Lizzy Harvell will start in goal for the Roadrunners as a freshman. Harvell will need to grow as a player but has tremendous potential to excel this season.

Ramapo will play their first two games of the season on the road before returning home on September 7th with a match-up against non-conference foe New Paltz at 3pm on the Athletic Center Grass Field.
