Union, NJ:  The Kean University women's lacrosse team defeated Ramapo College 16-5 today in NJAC action at Kean Alumni Stadium. The Cougars improve to 11-1 overall and 2-0 in the NJAC while the Roadrunners drop to 6-7 overall 0-3 in the conference.
 
Ramapo got on the board first in the game with an unassisted goal from Emma Bolton, her 10th of the season, with 28:09 on the clock. Kean then rallied with eight straight goals to take an 8-1 lead. Bolton tallied the team's second goal of the game just before the half as Kean took an 8-2 lead into halftime.
 
The Cougars recorded six straight goals in the second half, extending their lead 14-2 before Ramapo's Molly Warner hit the back of the net for her first goal of the game. Kean added two goals to go up 16-3 while Ramapo's leading scorer Lindsay Hughes recorded back-to-back goals, her 41st and 42nd of the season. Her second goal came with just one second left in the game.
 
Jordan Blanda led the Cougars with five goals while Brittany Ballack added four of her own. Nikki Apostolopoulos earned the win in the net for Kean with nine saves and five goals against.
 
Tara Ward and Monica Bubello split halves in the net for the Roadrunners. Ward recorded two saves while Bubello tallied three of her own.
 
Ramapo returns to action on Tuesday, April 19th when they host rival Montclair State University in the final home game of the season beginning at 4pm.
